About Me

Monsieur Braud

I was born in Limoges, France, and moved to England thirty years ago—a journey that led to a deeply rewarding career in education. After completing my PGCCE in Continuing Education at the University of Nottingham in 2005, I joined Stamford School in Lincolnshire, where I taught French and later led the department as Head of French for thirteen fulfilling years. I retired in August 2025, closing a chapter defined by a strong commitment to academic excellence and pastoral care. My classroom was always a space where curiosity was encouraged, and students’ wellbeing was nurtured; principles that shaped my teaching philosophy throughout.

To deepen my professional expertise, I completed Levels 1 and 2 of the Independent Schools Qualification in Academic Management (ISQAM) at UCL London in 2017. This experience strengthened my understanding of curriculum design and academic leadership, allowing me to contribute more strategically to school life.

Career

For over 20 years, I taught French to students from Year 7 to Year 13 at Stamford School in Lincolnshire, which has given me a strong understanding of how young people learn and grow at each stage of their education. This experience has helped me develop a flexible and supportive teaching style that adapts to the academic and emotional needs of each student.

Beyond the classroom, I’ve also led a junior boarding house and managed the school’s cross-country programme—roles that gave me valuable insight into student wellbeing and personal development. I’ve enjoyed mentoring fellow teachers and PGCE trainees, helping them build confidence and find their own teaching voice.

I offer private one-to-one French tutoring sessions, each lasting 50 minutes. These are available for students at Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, as well as for adults who wish to learn French for business or personal enjoyment. I’m well-versed in the new AQA GCSE syllabus, with the first exams scheduled for June 2026, and I have extensive experience supporting sixth form students—whether it’s preparing for their IRP speaking tasks, discussing set literature texts, or developing strong essay-writing skills.

Feel free to email me to discuss your needs or ask any questions. The first lesson is half price, so we can get to know each other and find the right approach for you.
